What are veneers?
Veneers, or porcelain veneers, are thin porcelain chips that are chemically bonded to the outer surfaces of your front teeth, top or/and bottom. Veneers are minimally invasive procedures that usually require shaving off a very thin layer (about 0.5mm) of enamel on the outer surfaces of your front teeth in order to make room for the material. In some cases, no prep or prep-less veneers can be done where there’s no need to shave off any enamel to make room for the restorations.
Porcelain veneers are highly esthetic and can alter the appearance of your natural teeth. Veneers can change the shapes, shade (brightness), tilts and dimensions, etc. of your teeth. If done properly, porcelain veneers can last for years. They rarely come off and when they do, it’s usually an easy process to cement them back onto the teeth.
