What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the most popular clear aligner treatment options in the market. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign creates teeth movement using specially designed clear aligner trays and small white resin attachments that are temporarily bonded on to the teeth. Due to the clear nature of the trays, it is often impossible to notice someone wearing them at normal talking distance, thus making Invisalign a very popular treatment option for most people.

Invisalign treatment can last from a few months to 2+ years, depending on the complexity of the case and number of refinements that is required after the initial treatment. Patients are required to wear the trays for 22 hours per day, only removing them before they eat and immediately brush and floss their teeth after they eat before wearing the aligner trays again. Patients are usually given a few sets of trays at a time and are supposed to wear each set for 1-2 weeks before moving forward with the next set.

Invisalign has certain limitations when it comes to moving teeth compared to traditional orthodontic braces where there’s basically no limits. Invisalign is ideal for people who have had orthodontic treatment at an early age and quit wearing their retainers after a while and their teeth have started to shift in their adulthood.
